About this Site

This site contains the archives of the Washington County Community Action Organization (WCCAO) dating from 1964-2016. WCCAO placed these materials in the Pacific University Archives in order to preserve them and provide long-term public access to the records. Through an agreement with WCCAO, Pacific University has digitized almost the entire collection, including more than 1,600 documents and images. Nearly all of this material is publicly available through this site. 

It should be noted that the WCCAO Collection has relatively little material dating from the early years of the organization. Many of the records from the organization's early years (1964-1986) were either destroyed during a move, or not collected formally. The records dating from after 1987 are more complete.
