Rev + Dear Brother,
Your 2n Repl, of to 31st [?][?], [?] as this A. M. + we hasten + make remittance as Jan [?]/ We ask not or acknowledge as received by this Faculty /$30.45 which you also report as “Curtailed for” if This quarter on [?] [?], but which, while ntaining the same, can ordain where deducted from your future aid. Perhaps we misunderstood you. But, if we are right in our interpretation of your letter, or do not see how we can rightfully do what you purpose. That sum cannot be acknowledged as “receipts” unless it is “received” by the [?]; + if “received,” it must be voted out, on some grant, I [?] [?] Ex. Co [?], or, it mist till be found in the treasury. Were the $20.45 to apply on your grant ‘twould then be right for us to place it nally among the “[?]” of the [?]., as is customary. If “contribute for an [?]”, as we say it was, you [?] do [?] & keep it, interesting than it apply on the grant. Is not this so? You are found, in that case, keeping what was given to another. But very possibly, we do not quite catch the meaning of what you [?] [?].Meantime I must abor the section [about?] for the quarter, according to the vote granting you #350.00 aid for the gear. Hoping for an early explanation, we remain very [?] yours.
