In a letter to a congressional colleague, U.S. Congressman Les AuCoin advocated for his proposed amendment to the Commodity Exchange Act extension (H.R. 10285). Congressman AuCoin explained how his amendment "would tighten-up the procedures under which the Commodity Futures Trading Commission oversees rule changes proposed by the numerous contract market in this country."
