Testimony of U.S. Congressman Les AuCoin before the Appropriations Subcommittee for Interior and Related Agencies regarding the Forest Service budget. In his statement, Congressman AuCoin argued for a 30% increase in the Forest Service budget in response to what he called a "woefully inadequate" budget proposed by the the Office of Management and Budget. Congressman AuCoin described the importance of such a budget, briefly mentioning Oregon's role in the timber industry.
