A speech by U.S. Congressman Les AuCoin given at the OEA-PIE Convention on April 4, 1986. In his speech, Congressman AuCoin discussed Oregon schools and the history of education legislation in the state and nationally, including his contributions as an Oregon state representative and a U.S. representative. Congressman AuCoin also discussed the policies of Oregon Governor Tom McCall, Oregon politican Tony Meeker, and President Ronald Raegan. OEA-PAC, then known as OEA-PIE, is the political action committee of the Oregon Education Association. This is one of a collection of digitized objects from the Les AuCoin Papers (MS.147) at the Pacific University Archives. AuCoin served in the Oregon House of Representatives (1971-1975) and in the United States House of Representatives from Oregon's 1st District (1975-1993).
