Portrait of Harriet Burnett Hoover Killin, the first woman to graduate from Pacific University (Class of 1869). She was married to Benton Killin. She was born in 1848 in Washington County on the Hoover Donation Land Claim, and died in 1937 at her home in Portland.

She was not allowed to sit on the platform with the men graduates. But was placed on a front bench. She passes at her Portland home in 1937 at the age of 88. She was raised on the Hoover D. L. C. a few miles north of Hillsboro.
