The air is filled with grains of rice, and the couple is laughing as they prepare to descent the steps. She wears a along dress with a chiffon overlay, a headpiece and a veil, and carries a small bouquet, while he wears a simple dark suit, a bow tie and a boutonniere. McMullen was a local photographer; he owned Hillsboro Studio and also collected photographs taken in the area by other photographers.
