Photograph of faculty and families in front of Pacific University's Herrick Hall. It was built around 1882 as the women's dormitory and burned down in 1906. It was named after Reverend John R. Herrick, Pacific's 1879-1883 president. Identified are: Frank Thomas Chapman, director of Pacific's music conservatory; James Rood Robertson, who served as principal of Tualatin Academy from 1890-1893, and then as professor of history at Pacific University from 1893-1906; and the wife of William Thomas Fletcher, professor mathematics and Latin.
