Throughout Pacific University's history there has been a huge emphasis placed on the role female students play in the school's social scene – in particular, on their roles as Queens of various dances and events either put on by or associated with the university. In the early to mid-1900s it was not unusual for there to be more than three dances/social gatherings a week, and while not all of those had a Queen and her subsequent Court, most were hosted by the same organizations that were responsible for those that did.
The following pictures and documents demonstrate the supreme amount of importance placed upon the position of Queen (of anything) by the past students and faculty of Pacific University.
